UK productivity slips in early 2018 – official data

LONDON (Reuters) – British productivity contracted at the fastest pace in a year during the first three months of 2018, official data showed on Friday.

Output-per-hour fell 0.4 percent quarter-on-quarter after a 0.6 percent rise in the fourth quarter of 2018, the Office for National Statistics said.

Compared with a year ago, output-per-hour stood 0.9 percent higher in the first quarter.
